CAMERA STRAP CAUGHT ON FILM

This image was taken intentionally and is an excellent illustration as to why extreme care is needed while conducting spirit photography. If this image were to appear within a series of pics taken at an investigation, it could easily be misconstrued as a genuine vortex.

The characteristics of this camera strap are exacting to the majority of alleged genuine vortices. With the camera focusing on the Harper's Weekly, notice the psuedo-transparency produced at the shaft of the vortex. Someone may also be inclined to believe that this is an orb in motion because of the opacity at the end of the strap. The simple fact is that the white, egg-shaped "orb" is actually the loop at the distal end.

One other characteristic of importance is the direction the photo was taken. Although you would first be inclined to believe that the Harper's Weekly is hanging on a wall, it is actually laying on the floor. Many alleged vortices captured on film are usually gotten while aiming the camera in a downward direction. By removing your camera strap, or at the least, securing it around your neck, you can rest assured that this type of mistake will not happen while taking a picture down a hill or staircase. Other situations can also apply here. Long hair, clothing threads, etc. can also plague your photographs under similar circumstances. And don't be fooled into believing that only a downward camera direction can accomplish this mishap. Wind, static electricity, taking photos with your camera in the vertical (on end) position and other conditions must be kept in mind.

For the most part, and as a final note, every camera I have seen has had the strap located on the same side. As you hold the camera as if you were about to take a photo, the strap would be on the lower right. Leavng the strap on your camera will leave great question as to the authenticity of any vortex-like anomaly you may encounter. This is especially so when the vortex is presented on the right (or lower right) of the image when holding the camera horizontally, or, extending from the top while holding in the vertical. My point, always exercise extreme care and caution while taking spirit photographs.

P.S. - The camera strap in the photo is actually black in color.
