Date: March 9, 1999
Time: The investigation started around 7:45 P.M. and ended shortly before 10:30 P.M.
Location: Holly Hedge Bed & Breakfast, New Hope, PA.
Equipment: Sony Mavica FD71 Digital Camera, Nightowl Nightvision Scope
Weather: It was a cool evening (around 30 degrees F.) but it was clear. The temperature inside Holly Hedge was generally in the upper 60s.
History: I know nothing of the history of this location.
Those Present: Andy K., Lew and Sharon G., Bob R., Rachel G., Kenny and Donna B., Jen J.
Report: I must say at the outset that at no time during this investigation did I get any really strong impressions from the house, the barn or the grounds. I did get some good results with my camera and I did hear some unexplainable sounds, but I never felt that the location was very active.
I kept to myself through most of the early part of the investigation. I explored the downstairs, all of the rooms upstairs (except for the one we could not get into), and the attic. I did not feel anything in any of these areas and I got no obvious results from my digital camera (I did, however, note an orb in the attic when I was reviewing pictures later). After about 30 minutes, Lew G. told me about a room in an outside structure that I should check out. I spent 15 minutes in this room but got no results. I then proceeded to the barn.
I had noted a flash in an upstairs window as I approached the barn. When I entered, I fully expected to find other investigators inside but was shocked to see that the barn was empty. I made my way up some stairs to the second floor where I found a room with a closed door.
Inside were Bob R., Kenny B. and Donna B. who were the obvious source of the earlier flash I noted. Bob R. told me that they were getting good results from their digital cameras. We set up an experiment where we all (Kenny B, Bob R. and myself) took pictures almost simultaneously.
Although we captured orbs in our photographs, we had difficulty in capturing the same orbs with our different cameras. The area where most of these orbs were photographed was an upstairs loft in the room through which a heating vent or pipe passed. It was very hot in that loft and, I can't help but wonder whether the orbs we were photographing may somehow be explained due to the heat around that vent. Further testing with this theory will be necessary.
I left the barn and wandered down to the pond with Bob R. and Lew G. We were joined there later by Kenny and Donna B. I did not get any impressions at the pond.
It was shortly after this that I met Sharon G, Rachel G and Jen J outside. They asked me to come back to a room inside the house with them so that I could take some pictures with my digital camera. I agreed and we all went inside to room 7. They told me that they had had some postive results in this room. We waited in the darkened room. At one point we heard a thump in the small hallway that led to the bathroom in the room. I quickly took a picture and was rewarded with an orb in the hallway. Shortly afterward, we heard the sound of a door creaking.
Sharon, Rachel and Jen noted that they heard this sound before. We quickly began to look for an explanation. We soon found that a door downstairs was the culprit. Soon, Jen J. began to notice, with her nightvision camera, an orb that was passing in front of me near a chest of drawers. The orb often seemed to go into the closet. Every time she saw the orb, I took a picture. We were rewarded with several pictures that showed the orb near the closet.
Shortly after this, the investigation ended.
Impressions: As I noted at the beginning of my report, I did not get any strong impressions from this investigation. However, our results in room 7 would seem to indicate that there may be activity associated with that room.
