History: We have told the owners that we didn't wish to know the "haunted" history at this time. The main part of the house was built in the 1800's and has since undergone many additions.
Those Present: Lew & Sharon G., Kenny & Donna B., Bob & Ilene R., Andy K., and Bob M.
Report: This will be yet another short report for me. We began our investigation with a tour of the house. One of the owners, Barbara, was kind enough to show us around and explain to us how old each section was and also what each room used to be before they bought and renovated it. This old home was simply beautiful inside and out.
Once Barbara finished showing us the inside of the main house, she then led the group outside and to the rear of the house where they have a special guest room for the handicap. This is when my first and only experience occurred. When Barbara was out showing most of our group the handicap room I, as well as Bob R., stayed behind behind. I think we kind of got left behind because he (Bob) was taking pics of the upstairs with his digital, and I was getting my equipment ready. Anyway, when I finished setting up my recorder in one of the upstairs bedrooms, I made my way to the first floor to join the rest of the group. When I got down there, I found no around. I later learned that they had all been outside of the building to see the handicap room.
As I made my way across the sitting room I heard what sounded like two glasses clanging behind me. I stopped and quickly turned around. The noise stopped just as fast as I turned. However, when I did look behind me, I searched for an explanation of the sound. The only thing that came to mind (that could have caused that noise) was the glass chandelier hanging above me and about 5 feet behind me. Although the chandelier was completely still, I Immediately assumed that my weight on the old wood floors caused the chandelier to shake and cause the sound. I did try to recreate the sound by walking back and forth across the room. Each time I was unsuccessful. About 3 minutes later, Bob R. came into the room and I explained to him what had just happened. I even asked him to walk across the room with me. Still, nothing happened. Throughout the evening, I stayed in the sitting room at various times to see if all the weight on the floor upstairs (caused by the members) would shake the chandelier on the first floor enough to make it move and also make that sound. It never moved and I never heard the sound again. This was about it for me as far as experiences go.
I should mention however, that Bob and Andy conducted several interesting tests with their digital cameras. These tests were truly outstanding and produced some rather startling results. However, I will let them explain it all in their reports.
Random, and not so random pictures were shot throughout the house. Will post photographic results when the pictures are developed. Providing I get anything.
Impression: Although my own personal experiences were minimal, I am inclined to believe that this old home may be haunted. Especially after seeing the results of the digital cameras (and the tests conducted with the digitals) with my own eyes. However, I do believe that another investigation would be in order before I make my final claims.
On behalf of the PGHA I would like to thank Barbara & Joe for their generosity during our visit to their lovely home. We look forward to another visit in the near future.
