Date: Tuesday, February 16th, 1999
Time: Investigation started around 8:00 p.m. and ended around 10:00 p.m..
Location: Buckville House Bed and Breakfast, Kitnersville, Pa.
Weather: Outside temperature was in the middle 40’s and was a clear night. The indoor temperature was 64 degrees with a humidity of 28%.
Equipment: Keystone Easy Shot 500x with fixed 38mm lens, Kodak Gold 400 speed color film, E.L.F.-Zone EMF meter, Sony mini recorder, Cyclops Compact Night vision Scope, Radio Shack brand digital thermometer and hygrometer, Olympus D-220L digital camera with no strap.
History: We requested that at the time of the investigation that no information be given to us. Later I did find out by way of a newspaper article that Nicholas Buck who was of Revolutionary War fame built the home in 1795. It is also believed that his daughter, Sarah Buck died in the house during childbirth.
Those Present: Bob R., Ilene R., Lew G., Sharon G., Kenny B., Donna B., Bob M., and Andy K.
Report: In waiting for the investigation to start, I took a couple of pictures in the parking area that did show and orb in one photo. I had no real impressions, and I took the pic because I noticed a couple of members looking off towards the back part of the parking area. I also was able to capture a couple more orbs on my way inside before the investigation officially began.
We were met inside by our hosts for the evening Barbara and Joe Szollosi. Also present in the dining area was Hal Marcovitz of The Morning Call newspaper. It was from his article that I got the information contained in the history section of this report. Barbara offered to take us on a walk through of the house before we began to break up and investigate on our own. She should us the downstairs and I took a few pics that turned up nothing. After the first couple of rooms, I fell back into my familiar position of being at the back of the group. I don’t like to walk through an area for the first time quickly. I guess you can say that I am looking for the first impression of the rooms that I enter. I made my way upstairs behind the group as everyone entered the first bedroom. I took a picture off to the side in a second unlit bedroom and I did pick up an orb on that picture. I did not look at the pictures right away, so it was after I walked into the first bedroom that I realized this. In the first bedroom, nothing struck me as being out of the ordinary. Andy was on the other side of the bed from me and he was getting some sort of impression. I took a couple of pics in that room and also of Andy. All of them had negative results.
I then made my way into the hallway to look at what I got with the digital. I remarked that I got an orb and that was when I actually first talked to Hal. I explained to him what I got and we then proceeded to look for any possible natural causes for the orb. We did not find anything that could have caused a reflection. We then talked for a few more minutes and I made my way downstairs because someone from the group had called for me. Once downstairs, I met up with Ilene, Kenny, and Donna. We decided to go outside and take a few pictures to see if anything would turn up at the front of the house. We probably spent the next 15 minutes outside taking pictures and exploring the one room that was separated from the house. We got no results in that room, but outside we did capture a couple more orbs with the digital. I wandered around for a while longer and made my way upstairs. I found a couple of the members in one of the back rooms. I joined them and I took a couple of pictures with negative results. I was getting ready to leave the room when Andy told me that he got an orb with his digital. I decided to take a picture in the same area and I too got one also. Andy then left the room for a short while to get another disk for his camera. I took random pics in this time and some showed up positive. We investigated this room for what must have been a half-hour or so, when Andy returned to the room. After telling him of the results that we got while he was absent from the room, we decided to take pictures with our cameras side by side. To make a long story short we took over 20 plus pictures at most 2 or 3 seconds apart and we got the same results on both cameras.
At this time I am not going to draw any conclusions. We are going to need to reproduce this experiment under a more controlled situation with better documentation of what we did. Even so, the results were very exciting and have lead to much discussion and thought. We will post the official results of a more standardized experiment later. I should note that at one point, Donna was sitting in a rocking chair in the room. I was taking pictures of her when she told us that her hands felt cold. I took a picture and got an orb directly above her hands. We did try some more controlled pictures later in the evening with a minimum of results.
This involved taken several pictures of Barbara in different rooms of the house. This pretty much rapped up the investigation.
Impressions: I do think that maybe something is going on in this house due to the immense number of pictures that turned up anomalies. I got around 47 pictures that contained orbs I them. I did not get any other phenomena. I did not have any feelings or impressions while conducting this investigation. I do also want to say that more focus is going to be directed at trying to figure out how reliable and reproducible the digital cameras are for results. I would like to thank the Szollosi’s for their kind hospitality and the opportunity to investigate their house. I certainly feel that a follow up investigation and detailed interview of our hosts is in order to see if results can be re-created and backed up by past reports.
