Date: February 16, 1999

Time: The Investigation began at about 7:40 P.M. and we left around 10:00 P.M.

Location: Buckville House Bed and Breakfast, Kintnersville, PA.

Equipment: Sony Mavica FD71 Digital Camera, EPD Raynger ST4L Thermal Scanner, Optimus Handheld Cassette Recorder with External Microphone

Weather: Outside it was a clear night with moderate temperatures for a winter night, inside the average temperature was around 68 F.

History: I know little of the history of the house other than what our hostess told us. The oldest portion was built in 1795 and the house has served in the past as a hotel and a tavern. I do not know any information about past paranormal activity.

Those Present: Andy K., Lew G., Sharon G., Bob R., Ilene R., Kenny B., Donna B., Bob

Report: We began our investigation with a very nice tour of this beautiful old house. Our hostess explained the history of the house and showed us all of the main rooms and the guest rooms. The Buckville House just oozes with historic charm.

During this tour, I did get a very strong feeling in the front left bedroom of the house (the one with the large checker board on the table). As I stood in this room, on the side of the bed near the window, I felt as though there was a warm presence with me. A quick picture by Bob R. with his digital camera revealed nothing, but the feeling did not disappear until I left the room. I did not feel it again when I entered the room later in the evening.

After our tour, we began to separate into different parts of the house for the investigation. I spent much of this early time alone, trying to get feelings about different parts of the house. I did not really feel anything during this time. I was also taking the opportunity to experiment with my digital camera (this was the first time that I had taken it on an investigation). All of my early pictures revealed nothing.

After wandering a bit, I made my way into the oldest bedroom in the house which sits directly above the first floor dining / kitchen area.

I took a picture as soon as I walked in and it revealed an orb. I took a couple more pictures (with no results) when my camera indicated that my disk was full. While I stood in this room, I noticed a streak of light shoot across the ceiling, but later learned that other members of the group had been outside taking pictures towards the room I was in.

I went downstairs to get a new disk. When I passed Bob R., I told him about the orb that I had photographed in the old bedroom. After he got good photographic results in that same bedroom, he came to get me so we could carry out an experiment. We were going to take pictures in that room. We were going to keep our cameras in very near the same position facing the same direction. We were going to take pictures almost simultaneously (simultaneous pictures would have caused flash washout). The purpose of the experiment was to see if we could validate the phenomena we were capturing on the digitals by seeing if we both got the same anomalies. At least three other people were in the room while the experiment was carried out. The room was dark when the pictures were taken.

The experiment was a great success. In most instances where I captured an orb or orbs on my digital, so did Bob. Usually when I got nothing in the picture, he also got nothing. I have no doubt from our experiment that the digitals are legitimately capturing anomalies. The actual pictures that we took serve as the greatest proof.

Later, in the same room, Donna B. had noted that her hands had gotten very cold. I had been taking pictures just before this and had photographed several orbs. Bob R. and I began to focus our cameras towards Donna B. I have noticed in some of my pictures that her hands appear to glow. Bob R., at one point, photographed an orb just above her hands. During this period we were still using a controlled method for our photography (Bob snapped his pictures right after I did).

We later carried out an experiment to see if the spirits were drawn to our hostess. We took a series of photographs of her in this same bedroom. Our results were not as dramatic as they had previously been in that room.

Impressions: Other than one feeling that I got early on, I never got any real strong impressions from this house other than a deep sense of history. Based upon our photographic results, however, I do feel that there are several spirits in the house that primarily seem to be concentrated in the old bedroom.
